Engine Oil Change Essentials
Your vehicle’s engine is an assembly of hundreds of moving metal parts, altogether weighing between 200 and 500 pounds. Engine oil makes it possible for all those metal parts to slide past each other at high speed and high temperatures without destroying each other. Without oil, your engine will quickly overheat and fail. Regular oil change service at Clayton’s Auto Repair & Service will prevent this from happening.
Any engine oil has a limited lifespan, whether a basic conventional oil or a more expensive full synthetic. While oils are specially formulated to resist oxidation, extreme temperatures and pressures will eventually break your engine oil down. It will burn and leave sludge deposits in critical areas of your engine. Left unchecked, a major loss of oil can easily destroy the engine of any car, Honda, Cadillac and Chrysler alike.
Prompt Oil Changes for Long Engine Life
No matter what make of vehicle you drive, always use the automaker’s recommended oil change service interval as a guide. Your recommended interval may be 3000, 5000, 7500, or even 10000 miles, but this will depend on the type of oil and the way you drive. If you use a synthetic blend or full-synthetic oil, you might be able to slightly extend your oil change service interval. If you drive mostly short trips and in stop-and-go traffic, you should shorten that timeframe.

Established in 1974
Clayton’s Auto Repair & Service started in a small location in South Corvallis. Clayton put himself through the LBCC Auto Program while working days to provide for his family. The business was founded on the ideal of trust and honesty. Throughout the years the business grew and moved to the present location. Clayton believed in the education of his technicians, along with the proper equipment, as a way to bring the best service to his customers. Although Clayton is retired, the company was sold to a long term employee, and his philosophies still resound through the business today.
Meet the Business Owner: Bob D.
I started at Clayton’s fresh out of technical school in 1993. In many ways Clayton was much more than an employer, more of a mentor and friend. Along the way he taught me not only how to repair vehicles, but that being a professional is more about honesty and trust, coupled with a commitment to being the best that you can be by constantly training and growing to bring the best to your company. Now as the owner I try to instill his teachings to all my coworkers so that we can provide a complete experience when you visit our small but humble establishment.
